Step-by-Step Guide to Arm Knitting
Arm knitting is the newest craze in knitting crafts. For experienced and novice knitters alike, it's a fun way to get involved with yarn-crafts without needing to hold needles. Arm knitting is a technique where you use your forearms instead of knitting needles to create large knit fabrics.
The process begins with finding the right wool or tube yarn to use, which should be thick enough so it doesn’t break when stretched and thin enough so it doesn’t feel too bulky or heavy on the arms.
It also needs to be elastic, because this allows it to stretch out along any lengthwise ridges without breaking. Finally, it should not contain any harsh chemicals that may irritate skin or damage clothing if accidentally.
One of the best things about arm knitting is that there’s no need to buy any expensive tools – all you need are your hands!
You can also create bigger stitches than with regular needles which makes it one of the easiest ways to curl up and knit.
Arm knitting is a fun way to create a new throw blanket for the coming winter. These are durable, warm and not a hassle to knit! It is a very creative hobby that can be learned in just a few hours.

Casting-On
To cast on, make a slipknot, put your right arm through it and make a loop in the yarn. Then place this loop onto the same arm of the needle after you have got another one. Keep on doing so until you've gathered all the stitches
3 Steps To Arm Knit
- Grab the working yarn, place your left hand through the loop nearest to your right hand, and draw a loop through. Drop the stitch you just constructed off of your right arm; repeat this operation until all of the stitches have been cast on
- Work the second row in the same manner as the first, beginning with Step 1, but reversed: Pull a loop through the nearest loop on your right hand and then put your right hand through the loop nearest to your left. Repeat this step until all of the stitches have been added to your right arm
- Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until your project is the length you want, finishing with the stitches on your left arm
BINDING OFF
The next step is to bind off. Knit two stitches and bring the stitch closer to your arm over your working hand's stitch. Then work a third stitch with the opposite needle, likewise bringing it snugly and over your other hand in one more movement.
Repeat the previous step with the remaining stitch until there's no more stitches on your left arm and one more on your right. Cut the yarn and pull it through the last loop to close up all stitches.
